  • Achieving the Artsmark silver award in autumn 2023 linked to our commitment to all students having opportunities to develop their interests and skills in the creative and performing arts.
  • Shortlisted for 'Staff Wellbeing' school of the year in the TES Awards in summer 24.

  • Named as the Sunday Times North East Secondary School of the Decade in 2021
  • Designated as Lead School in the DfE Behaviour Hub Programme in 2021, one of only eight secondary lead schools nationally at this time
  • First graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in March 2017.  During a subsequent Ofsted inspection in May 2022, it was confirmed that we remain ‘Outstanding’
  • Of course, the most important achievement of any school is the wider development of the students and the personal qualities and skills that are able to flourish as a consequence of an exceptional educational experience.  At SCC, we take great pride in all of the successes of our young people and know that they leave us with the capacity to be fantastic members of society in the next stage of their education and then for the rest of their lives.
